2010-05-04 [Aeolynn]: I think a sentient park bench would be rather fascinating...
2010-05-04 [Chel.]: Yeeeaaa....I suppose so. >_>
2010-05-04 [wicked fae mage]: And even though they're toys, inanimate normally...Toy
2010-05-04 [The Dizzy Raven]: exactly :) ^_^ I love toy story. The Little Toaster was my childhood movie *dreams of being a little kid*
2010-05-04 [Alexi Ice]: Yeah, Toystory is also an adequate example, thank you! Hehehe, I was trying to think of a few more. Also, Beauty in the Beast features enchanted objects. Yeah, the Little Toaster was adorable!
2010-05-04 [The Dizzy Raven]: oh! beauty and the beast! :D I love that one, too! :)
2010-05-04 [Chel.]: I guess what defines what will be allowed is if it's....alive or not? However....I don't think something like fungus would count unless it like...had a personality XD
2010-05-04 [wicked fae mage]: Well, personifying the objects like the toaster, the candles, the toys and whatnot, making them able to talk, think, have emotions and so on would probably allow them to be called characters.
2010-05-04 [Alexi Ice]: Chel! has never seen Final Fantasy Unlimited. Hehehe ^^ The Fungi were quite alive.
2010-05-04 [wicked fae mage]: There are some mushroom enemies on Donkey Kong 64 as well as the Toads(Toadstools) from Mario...
2010-05-04 [Chel.]: Why don't we argue this if/when someone submits something along those lines...eh?
2010-05-04 [Alexi Ice]: I already asked in the crew forum, it's a good question that has the right to be adressed. Why would someone go through all the trouble of making a submission that they were not sure would make the cut. And considering you and I are both mods for this contest, bringing it up with the crew is the best way to settle the dispute.
2010-05-04 [Chel.]: Fair enough. I just agree as long as it has a personality, it's acceptable. Because really- that's what makes a character.
2010-05-04 [The Dizzy Raven]: ^_^
2010-05-05 [Alexi Ice]: Yeah! <3 Problem solved!
2010-05-05 [The Dizzy Raven]: yipee!!! :D
2010-05-16 [shadow of darkness]: so would my DnD character be acceptable or would he being developed for DnD make him non-original?
2010-05-17 [Chel.]: No sir... (read the Theme)
"The theme is: Original Characters - your own original character designed for an original setting (characters designed for settings such as Middle Earth or X-Men will not be accepted)."
2010-05-17 [jaraden]: i have a couple of characters i could enter, well in truth i have scores, but i have two that i just reacently finished colouring on photoshop.. how do i enter them, do i need a bio for them, story line etc??? i didn't botherreading all the rules and such.. i don't read.. too often that is.. ha! let me know... cheer y'all!
2010-05-17 [Lord Josmar]: But DnD is not Middle Earth. That particular character lives in a thriving metropolis called Gandall and is currently working for the kings adviser to capture a neighboring country by force. Not throw a ring into a volcano.
2010-05-17 [Veltzeh]: An original D&D character designed for an original setting would be accepted, right? D&D in that case would just mean the rules by which the character is played in an RPG.
I did start wondering if an original character for a friend's setting would be okay, though...
